Toyota is recalling 2.9 million Rav-4’s

Toyota motor company

Toyota will be recalling almost 3 million Rav-4’s globally. The recall is due to a rear seatbelt malfunction. There are 2 recorded incidents where the rear seatbelt was “separated”(we all know that means cut) by the metal frame of the backseat. One incident took place in the US where the person involved was injured and the other took place in Canada where there was a fatality recorded.

Toyota is saying that they will put a plastic shield over the seatbelts to protect them.

The vehicles that are affected in this recall are: Rav-4’s produced July 2005 and August 2014 and the Vanguard(Japan) produced between October 2005 and January 2016.
